Do you desire a simplified life?
I have been thinking about what my purpose is. Who I am.
I am super adaptable to changing environments. Maybe you are, too. If you are, have you noticed that your heart doesn’t adapt much? Your heart stays constant. Sure, we change our minds and opinions. Our tastes change. But our heart, what we deeply value, doesn’t change, from my experience. What are your thoughts on that? Drop a comment below. I would love to hear what your experience has been.
I am working on clarity of what my brand is, as myself. Some of you saw my recent journey through a memory lane. Then it hit me.
I am from a very rural community during the time electricity was still fairly new. My dad didn’t have electricity till when he was in middle school. Even then, they had only one light bulb and radio. Within a decade, I was born. My parents lived in a rental duplex with an attached outhouse and we heated our bath water with firewood daily. My mom steamed sweet potatoes for dessert.
Today I own more things than my parents did when I was little. Instead of living in an insulated bubble, I live abroad. I work hard. I enjoy challenges that are complex. I read and watch and learn things that really exercise my brain in a way I haven’t been put through. But at the end of the day, I yarn for simplicity – not in an ignorant way. But in a way that helps myself & my loved ones, the environment, and the society.
Essentrics®, for example, is wellness simplified, in my opinion. Yes, it’s challenging and movements are complex. But it certainly takes out noise and helps me physically effectively and efficiently.
I hope to share with people my view of living life simply. It’s different from being a minimialist. I don’t try that hard to keep things minimal. My Soboku life is to minimize waste of material (including food), energy, money, and time. I hope that my insight will inspire and help others to simplify their life in a warm, calm, and wholesome way.
